My book is not about starting over after a divorce
There are a few news about the book. First of all, I had to find a different name.
Turns out, “second chance love” is a common trope in contemporary romance and would have screwed up the keywords in the Amazon searches. Things indie authors have to think about…
So the new name is….. drum roll…..
SECOND CHANCE HEAT
Given how I’m planning on ramping up the steam, it’s appropriate and catchy. I think. 😀
How to balance a sensitive topic with PNR
I actually wrote chapters 1 and 2 last week, but then reconsidered.
You may remember what happened at the end of book 3. It seemed implausible for Amber and her boys to carry on as if not much had happened (other than being surprised by Macha!)
So I googled the Stages of Grief and rewrote those scenes, seen through the the lens of my new knowledge.
We’ve all lost people before. My father-in-law passed away just before Christmas 2019. My own dad died when I was a teenager, and I remember vividly the onslaught of emotions and confusion. I don’t think you’ll ever forget…
But Second Chance Heat is not that kind of book. Right now, I’m writing and rewriting to make sure it deals with the topic appropriately while not dragging you guys down.
I think I’ve found a way. Watch this space–I’ll be sharing snippets soon.
