And to ease you into Amber’s world, here’s “Zapped!”, a short story prequel in the Second Chance Academy series.
I grew up in Germany and remember a childhood filled with mu grandmother’s stories and fairy tales.
I followed my love for stories and language when I studied English, Spanish, and Italian literature. During a gap year in London, I met my husband and followed him to his native Ireland.
Soon I listened to tales I was assured were true. Stories about a strange woman dressed all in black, walking with you at night, who would disappear at the crossroads. About the local priest who warned his parishioners not to build on the local fairy mound, “so as not to upset the little people.”
I was amazed at how the fictitious supernatural world overlapped even today. One of the oddest stories I was told by my mother-in-law was about the reason why soda bread had a cross carved into. Not so it would bake more evenly, but to let the devil out.
It was little wonder that I was fascinated enough to follow my childhood dream and pen my dark romance fantasy novel, straddling both the modern and supernatural world.
Since college, I spent my time raising two kids and taking them all over the world. From my favorite city, San Francisco, to secrete empty beaches in the Canaries, to most European countries, I’ve enjoyed immersing my self in different cultures and meeting the most interesting people.
My family and I now live in Frankfurt, Germany, where I take advantage of the vibrant local writing and arts community.
So far, I’ve published the Spirit Walker series as well as the Second Chance Academy series. I’m currently working on a spin-off, The Hidden Fae series. It’s set in a parallel Fae realm where the heroine is caught up in a a clash between our human world and the Fae realm. Technology vs. Magic. Modern vs. Fae medieval. You get the drift.
The new series reflects my foray into the exciting world of reverse harem. I don’t shy away from portraying all aspects of love because representation matters. My motto is “unapologetic romance because love needs no excuses.”
